Complex Carbohydrates List PDF – Overview
Complex carbohydrates are made up of sugar molecules that are strung together in long, complex chains. Foods such as peas, beans, whole grains, and vegetables contains enough amount of complex carbohydrates.
Similar to simple carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates are also turned to glucose (blood sugar) in the body and are used as energy.
The healthiest sources of carbohydrates are unprocessed or minimally processed whole grains, vegetables, fruits and beans. Foods including White bread, pastries, sodas, and other highly processed or refined foods contains high amount of unhealthy carbohydrates.
